Lito's not even done cleaning out his locker yet! Come on, man! This is per Adam Schefter's Twitter. I'll update with a more official link when one is availables :3
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Redskins are "charging hard" for Julius Peppers - and that they'll get what they want.
"A source said Sproles was scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend and also St. Louis, Philadelphia and Washington." If Sproles was still under contract, how could he have three visits scheduled? Either way, the indication is that San Diego is open to trading him.
Former Cards S Antrel Rolle free to sign, and is talking to Bears, Giants, Dolphins and Cardinals. No team more desperate than Chicago.
Via SchefterEllis Hobbs gets a first round tag? Weaver, Avant, & Nick Cole get 2nd round tenders. Gilles, Gocong, Gaither get original round tenders. Rocca gets a "right of first refusal" tender.
So looks like even the Jets dont want him. Its amazing how far he fell from being the Eagles #1 corner. The move was a bit expected though since Lito was going to receive a $10 million roster bonus. A disappointing season with the Eagles coupled with one with the Jets leaving Lito in between a rock and a hard place in finding a team.
Just spoke with the agent of fullback Leonard Weaver, one of the Eagles' restricted free agents, and he sounded hopeful that a new contract could be announced within hours. "I'm literally on the phone with them right now," Harold Lewis said. "We're working on it. I promise you."
Weaver deal could be done by day's end. After Peppers, Aaron Kampman is regarded as the second-best defensive end available, followed by Kyle Vanden Bosch. But one league source told me that Kampman may be headed to Philadelphia.
From the Chicago Sun TimesDo we still think that we should make a play for him or try to go after the low tendered OJ Atogwe?
Dude's not going anywhere with that price tag on his head. I'm surprised they ever considered letting him roam. He's an electric player, even if he's not an every down back. How's this affect the Eagles? Well, honestly, I don't think it does at all. While I think the addition of a players like Sproles or Chester Taylor would benefit the Eagles, Andy Reid is much more likely to spend a 2nd to 4th round pick on a running back and get them on the cheap. Kind of like linebackers, I just don't think Andy Reid will ever bring in a big free agent at that position.
