Based On History, What Are The Eagles Playoff Chances?

6

The article is 2 years old, but it details teams that have overcome awful starts to squeak into the playoffs. From the time this article was written in 2009, 20 teams have been 3 games below .500 at some point during the season and made the playoffs, and just 9 have started 1-4 and advanced. I personally have little hope regarding the Eagles chances, but 1-4 teams have made the postseason more than I thought.

"Since Kurt Warner hung up his cleats, the Cardinals are 6-15. The Cardinals invested a bundle in quarterback Kevin Kolb, who has just 12 starts in five pro seasons, for a bland 4-8 record with more interceptions (20) than touchdown passes (16). On his career, Kolb also has been sacked once every 15 times he drops back, versus, say, Drew Brees being sacked once every 27 times. Young quarterbacks often struggle -- Brees did. But in his five seasons, Kolb has played only one really good game. Sunday, he was lifted for Richard Bartel, undrafted out of Tarleton State, who's been waived by four NFL teams and appeared briefly with the Sacramento Mountain Lions."

A disgruntled Eagles fan made this sign and stood across the street from the NovaCare complex. Not sure about his grammar, but he's dedicated.

However, not exactly in the way we had all envisioned.

Lofa Tatupu Wanted to Play for Eagles

9

Not sure if this has already been said but in Adam Schefter's Mailbag he mentions that former Seahawks LB Lofa Tatupu wanted to come here but "Philadelphia wanted to see its young linebackers and how they preformed." Hopefully after seeing how poor they have preformed they will give this former 3x pro-bowler a shot. Whether he still has it or not, there's no way hes as bad as what is currently on the field.
