Anything to read while passing the time at the 9-5 'It is interesting that Reynolds is the backup C for now. Not sure what to make of that. He’s played almost all OG in his time with the Eagles. He played all over the place at BYU. I like him at C. Maybe he’s earned that role in the individual work. Maybe he just knows the offense better than the other options and that’s why he’s there.'
'I thought Curtis Marsh struggled a bit today in 1 on 1′s. I saw him beaten on several occasions.' 'I think Darryl Tapp is the new Asante Samuel. He didn’t shut up the entire practice. At least I think it was Tapp that was yelling on every play from the cluster of players on the side. With 90 guys at practice, it’s tough to see everyone.'
Vick had his own theory for why he may have been injured so much last year. He said he focused too much on agility and speed work last off-season and less on his upper body. "Lifting weights is very important, but I didn’t do it last year," he said. "I focused on my legs and that was the wrong thing to do." Andy Reid conceded during the owners meetings in March that he may have overloaded Vick with too much in terms of pre-snap responsibilities last preseason. Vick was handed the responsibility of calling out blocking assignments. Center Jason Kelce said Tuesday that he’s assisting a little more this year in identifying the middle linebacker, but Vick is still in charge. Vick also said that he has been given more leeway to change plays at the line of scrimmage.
Does Vick need to change? An arbitrator ruled against Dallas and Washington today upholding the big salary cap penalties levied against them earlier this year. The teams said afterward that they would abide by the decision of the arbitrator and move on.
Where did this leave Chaney? Chaney was not expected to take part in the Organized Team Activities because of the offseason neck procedure he underwent, but when the Organized Team Activities began on Tuesday at the NovaCare Complex he was out there on the field. Chaney said he wasn't with the starters, but instead competing against Brian Rolle for the weakside linebacker job. It's the one linebacker spot where Chaney hasn't started in his first two seasons.
From Todays OTA the first two LB groups looks like this: Will- Rolle , Jordan MIKE- Ryans, Matthews SAM- Kendricks, Chaney side note: I thought Matthews looked skinnier but more solid
