The Philadelphia Eagles will take the field one last time during the 2023 NFL regular season, and will face the New York Giants at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday, January 7 at MetLife Stadium.

The Eagles have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, but after losing to the Cardinals in Week 17, their hopes of a high seed is dwindling. A win over the Giants is imperative if they’re still looking to win the NFC East title, but not only does Philly need a win, they need the Cowboys to lose to the Commanders — who are also set to face off in the late-afternoon timeslot on Sunday.

The Giants nearly pulled off an upset over the Birds just two weeks ago, and the Eagles have done nothing since then to boast any kind of confidence that they won’t suffer another embarrassing loss on their way to the postseason. Plus, DeVonta Smith appears to have suffered a mild ankle sprain against the Cardinals, and Avonte Maddox might have been re-injured, as well.

Head coach Nick Sirianni said that his message to the team this week is to stick together, noting that there is still a path for them to achieve their goal of winning the division — it’s just not entirely in their hands anymore.
