Nick Sirianni reportedly told Eagles players to take the 49ers’ trash talk personally

Shocker: the Philadelphia Eagles are using the San Francisco 49ers’ trash talk from the aftermath of the NFC Championship Game as bulletin board material.

From NFL insider Jay Glazer on the FOX pregame show:

“But how about this? Nick Sirianni. We saw a lot of trash being talked for a while from the 49ers about the Eagles? He didn’t shy away from it. Instead, he told his team “take it personally.” And he showed clips of the 49ers talking trash about those Philadelphia Eagles and then also showed clips of players talking trash about Michael Jordan and what Michael Jordan would do to make them pay. He said ‘That’s what I want, I want you to take it personal.’

As we highlighted earlier this week, the 49ers sure gave the Eagles a lot of extra motivation to win this one.

And for those who think it’s an overplayed angle, even San Francisco team captain Fred Warner admitted he wishes his teammates didn’t talk so much after losing to the Eagles in January. A little too late for that, though.

The Eagles’ messaging is clear. Do not let the 49ers come into your house and win after disrespecting you.
