The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Saturday in advance of their Week 16 Christmas game against the New York Giants.

Four players were ruled OUT: Avonte Maddox, Darius Slay, Landon Dickerson, and Zach Cunningham.

Maddox fully participated in practice all week but the Eagles will not be activating him from injured reserve for Monday’s game. Probably best to take a cautious approach. Maddox might be able to play in Week 17.

Slay is missing his second straight game after having arthroscopic knee surgery. He might be able to return in Week 17. For now, it’ll likely be the rotation of Kelee Ringo and Eli Ricks across from James Bradberry (barring an unlikely benching).

Dickerson’s absence means the Eagles will likely start Sua Opeta at left guard.

Cunningham is missing his second game in a row and his third out of the Eagles’ last four. Philly would benefit from having their top linebacker back sooner than later.

One player was ruled QUESTIONABLE: Nicholas Morrow.

Morrow didn’t practice at all this week so the guess here is it’s more likely that he doesn’t play? Or perhaps he’ll be available on a pitch count?

If Morrow can’t suit up, the Eagles will be without their top two off-ball linebackers. They’re down to just Shaq Leonard and undrafted rookie BenVanSumeren on the roster. They could also look to temporarily elevate Brandon Smith from the practice squad for more depth and special teams help.

DeVonta Smith is notably listed without a game status.

He said he’s playing against the Giants despite missing practice on Thursday and Friday. DeVonta was limited on Saturday.

CB Zech McPhearson

Maddox had his 21-day practice window opened on December 21. There is no timeline for a Dean return. Evans is out for the season. Bradley, Johnson, and McPhearson will miss the entire 2023 season since they were placed on IR ahead of roster cuts to the 53-player limit.

CB Isaiah Rodgers

Rodgers is suspended for the entire 2023 season due to gambling. He can apply for reinstatement in 2024.

The Giants ruled two players out: starting right tackle Evan Neal and DT3 Rakeem Nunez-Roches.

Neal’s absence is likely a case of addition by subtraction since he’s been pretty bad. His projected replacement is Tyre Phillips, who spent time on Philly’s practice squad earlier this season.

The Giants missing RNR is significant because they’re banged up at defensive tackle. DT1 Dexter Lawrence and DT2 A’Shawn Robinson are both questionable to play.

Lawrence was upgraded to limited on Saturday after missing two practices. Robinson has been limited in practice all week. Even if they can suit up, their snap counts could be restricted.
