Could the lack of Eagles Saturday roster moves signal good news?

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Philadelphia Eagles Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

So, is Dallas Goedert actually going to suit up against the San Francisco 49ers despite officially being ruled doubtful to play?

It was interesting to see that the Philadelphia Eagles did not make any temporary practice squad elevations ahead of Saturday’s 4:00 PM Eastern deadline.

Last week, the Eagles called up Noah Togiai to be the third tight end behind Jack Stoll and Albert Okwuegbunam. There was thought that they might do that again for the 49ers game.

But perhaps they didn’t feel the need for him because Goedert will be good to go?

Can’t say that’s necessarily likely. It also must be noted that Grant Calcaterra is questionable to play (better than doubtful) and the lack of a Togiai elevation could mean it’ll be him suiting up as a third tight end alongside Stoll and Okwuegbunam. Guessing that’s going to be the case with Goedert not playing.

In other non-elevation news, the Eagles did not call up another defensive tackle from the practice squad. Perhaps that’s a good sign for Fletcher Cox? Maybe not since they were missing Milton Williams last week and didn’t feel the need to elevate Noah Elliss or Thomas Booker. Then again, Jordan Davis missed some practice time this week due to a hamstring injury. And him and Jalen Carter played a ton of snaps in Week 12, so it could’ve made sense to have an extra DT body on the roster if Cox was definitely out.

We’ll see who’s in and who’s out for sure when Eagles and 49ers inactives are announced at 2:55 PM on Sunday.
