Philadelphia Eagles (10-3) at Seattle Seahawks (6-7), 8:20 p.m. Monday
The Line: Eagles minus-3/Total: 47.5
What is the line telling you:
Originally, oddsmakers opened this line with the Eagles being a 4-point favorite and the combined total was set at 48. Since then, we’ve seen a full one-point correction on the side and a half-point downtick on the total. As of right now, the Eagles are 3-point road favorites in Seattle. This is another tough spot for the Eagles this week, traveling 2,821 miles playing on Monday Night at Lumen Field (Seattle, Washington). Seattle has always been a tough place to win and Philly hasn’t won there since 2008.
When we look at the early betting splits offshore and in Las Vegas, 60% of all tickets so far have been on the Eagles, yet the line has dropped a full point down to that key number of three. In the sports betting business, that’s a bad predictive indicator for the Eagles and is called reverse line movement.
Basically, it is telling you the public is on Philly, but the early sharp money is on the Seahawks plus-4.
The Eagles are fighting for the No. 1 seed and the NFC East title while the Seahawks are fighting for their playoff lives.
Bottom line: The Eagles in the first half -150 on the moneyline. The Seahawks pass defense is one of the worst in the NFL, and their rush defense is even worse. Geno Smith is banged up and the Seahawks are reeling. Each time they’ve stepped up in competition this season, they underperformed with the exception of when they played a Browns team with backup quarterback P.J. Walker.
Eagles game props
Jalen Hurts anytime TD -160
Hurts over 249.5 passing yards
Both teams under 24 in the first half
What is the line telling you:
Both teams average just 11 points a game in the first half this season and they’re expecting rain on Monday night in Seattle. Both teams could come out a little conservative with their play calling, not wanting to turn the ball over because this game means so much to both teams. Philly is fighting for the #1 seed and the NFC East title while the Seahawks are fighting for their playoff lives.
