Reactions to the Eagles’ defensive coordinator adjustment

Sean Desai remains the Eagles defensive coordinator for now, but Matt Patricia will be taking over play-calling duties.

The Eagles made some big moves this week, with news that the team stripped Sean Desai of playcalling duties and Matt Patricia will run the defense. It’s not exactly something that was expected from the team that’s 10-3, but Desai called terrible games two weeks in a row and will now move up to the booth.

There were breadcrumbs of a change throughout the week, like Kevin Byard asking for the DB’s to do their own scouting reports. Byard said the report was being taken out of context, but now it seems like a possible factor.

BGN Radio’s “On The Shane Page” show broke down the defense in depth, and was astonished by what Desai was doing, with co-host Shane Haff pointing out two of the worst play designs he’s ever seen.

Here are some reactions about the unexpected change the Eagles decided to make in the middle of Week 15, as a team that controls their own destiny down the stretch.
