The Eagles are road favorites against the Seahawks

Can Philadelphia break their two-game losing streak?

The Philadelphia Eagles are 3.5-point road favorites against the Seattle Seahawks in the Week 15 game that was flexed to Monday Night Football, according to our friends over at DraftKings Sportsbook.

How are the Eagles favored when they’ve been outscored 75 to 32 in back-to-back weeks and are thus the worst team in NFL history after dropping to 10-3?

Well, consider that the Seahawks’ recent struggles are even worse; Seattle is 1-5 in their last six games.

Week 9 at Baltimore Ravens, 37 to 3 LOSS
Week 10 vs. Washington Commanders, 29 to 26 WIN (OT)
Week 11 at Los Angeles Rams, 17 to 16 LOSS
Week 12 vs. San Francisco 49ers, 31 to 13 LOSS
Week 13 at Dallas Cowboys, 41 to 35 LOSS
Week 14 at San Francisco 49ers, 28 to 16 LOSS

The Seahawks are also potentially dealing with a quarterback injury. Drew Lock had to start their last game due to Geno Smith being hampered by a groin issue. It’s not yet perfectly clear if Smith will be able to play against the Eagles, though he could be helped by having the extra day with the game taking place on Monday.

The Eagles might also stand to benefit from that extra day considering how tired they’ve looked lately.

Though disappointing, the Eagles losing to both the 49ers and Cowboys was far from inconceivable. But now it’s time for Philly to bounce back and prove they’re not totally unserious.

It might not be easy. It rarely has been for this year’s team. The Eagles haven’t won in Seattle since 2008. Of course, prime Russell Wilson had a lot to do with that and he’s gone now.

Still, the Seahawks probably won’t just lie down. They’re still battling for a wild card spot in the NFC playoff picture.

That said, the Eagles are favored for a reason. Despite their apparent flaws, they’re the superior team. We’ll see if they can play like it. I’m willing to think they can rebound here.
