Kevin Byard trade reactions: Eagles got a steal

The Titans just keep sending their All Pro talent to the Eagles, and it’s a very welcome trade partnership.

The Eagles had a very impressive secondary performance on Sunday against Tyreek Hill, but it’s no secret that Howie Roseman has been looking to add some depth, specifically at safety. The GM did just that on Monday, completing a deal with the Titans to send their All Pro safety, Kevin Byard, back home to Philly.

Head coach Nick Sirianni credited DC Sean Desai for doing a really good job of tailoring the defense to the personnel on the roster, and Byard is going to add another weapon to a very physical group. The seven-year veteran will add some experience and depth at the safety position, which should help the very young, but very talented group that’s been rotating this season.

Byard will reunite with former teammate A.J. Brown, who was immediately excited about the news.

The Eagles definitely won the trade to bring Brown to Philly in 2022, and it seems likely that they’ll win the Byard trade too.
