Before the third Sunday of the 2021 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for the Week 3 games. You can CLICK HERE for straight up NFL picks without regard to the spread. You can find all of the NFL betting lines via DraftKings.
My overall record so far is 15-17. Below .500 but still better than the BGN Community, which is 12-20.
Here are the latest suggestions when trying to beat the odds.
NFL WEEK 3 GAMES
BALTIMORE RAVENS (-7.5) at DETROIT LIONS: The Lions have some fight in them but the Ravens are just obviously better. There is trap game potential with Baltimore coming off a big win over KC and an undefeated Denver team up next. We’ll big truss that Lamar Jackson can take care of business in Detroit. PICK: Ravens -7.5

ARIZONA CARDINALS (-7.5) at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Here’s the thing: why would anyone take the Jags? What is there to feel good about? Trevor Lawrence is a promising player in a vacuum but he just doesn’t have the right help around him. If you’re betting on Urban Meyer, you’re throwing money away. Kyler Murray’s hot streak continues in Duval. PICK: Cardinals -7.5

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-7): I was very high on the Chargers entering the 2021 season. I had Justin Herbert as my MVP pick and Brandon Staley as my Coach of the Year pick. Can’t say I feel amazing about those selections two weeks in. But, hey, I’m committed to the Bolts, so I’m not about to abandon them now. Today’s a big opportunity for the sake of the narrative; getting a win at Arrowhead would be a really big deal. Herbert should be able to take advantage of a leaky Chiefs defense, as he has in the past, to at least make this content close. PICK: Chargers +7

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-3): Two teams on opposite ends of the consistency spectrum. The Saints seem pretty high-variance with Jameis Winston at the helm. It’s hard to know what to make of them on a week-to-week basis. The Pats, meanwhile, seem to be more stable at a high floor, low ceiling level with Mac Jones under center. So, do you want to risk it or play it safe? I’d be going against my gut if I went with the latter. PICK: Saints +3

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS at TENNESSEE TITANS (-5.5): Carson Wentz is reportedly starting but will he even be able to make it through the game on two bad ankles? Let alone be effective? The Titans’ defense is pretty trash but Indy’s offense might be limited enough for them to hold on to a comfortable win. PICK: Titans -5.5

Which bet do you like more?
WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM at BUFFALO BILLS (-7): The Bills have had some offensive line issues, which could be a problem against Washington’s front. And Josh Allen (77.9) has a much worse passer rating than Taylor Heinicke (104.4) through two games. Give me Washington to at least make this one competitive. Perhaps they even pull off an upset. PICK: Football Team +7
Poll
Which bet do you like more?
ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW YORK GIANTS (-2.5): The Giants sure aren’t good but there’s confidence to be had that the Falcons are even worse. Atlanta straight up stinks. They’re weak in the trenches and Matt Ryan isn’t what he used to be. The G-Men are coming off a mini-bye from having played on Thursday Night Football. Feels like a steal that they’re less than standard three-point home favorites. PICK: Giants -2.5

Which bet do you like more?
CINCINNATI BENGALS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (-2.5): Ben Roethlisberger has been PFF’s third-worst graded quarterback through two games, only ahead of two rookies: Trevor Lawrence and Davis Mills. Yikes. The Steelers have some real offensive issues. Then again, the Bengals aren’t without their faults. Cincy’s offensive line could very well struggle against Pittsburgh’s front. And at the end of the day, wouldn’t you rather bet on Mike Tomlin than Zac Taylor? PICK: Steelers -2.5

CHICAGO BEARS at CLEVELAND BROWNS (-7): Justin Fields is going to have more growing pains than people seem to realize or want to admit. Look for the Browns to take advantage of the rookie’s miscues in his first NFL start. PICK: Browns -7

Which bet do you like more?
NEW YORK JETS at DENVER BRONCOS (-10): This is a little too much respect for Teddy Bridgewater’s Broncos. But I don’t know how anyone could take the Jets. Zach Wilson has had turnover issues and New York’s roster simply lacks talent and experience. Going to be a tough spot for NYJ on the road. Rookie quarterback going up against Vic Fangio. Pick: Broncos -10

Which bet do you like more?
MIAMI DOLPHINS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (-3.5): The Dolphins looked absolutely listless with Jacoby Brissett mostly under center in Week 2. Given more prep time, it’s not impossible he could actually look better than Tua Tagovailoa. We’ll believe it once we see it, though. The Raiders are off to a hot start with two quality wins over potential playoff teams. PICK: Raiders -3.5

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-2.5) at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: Hard to bet on Kirk Cousins over Russell Wilson. But the Vikings really need this win more to avoid to dropping to 0-3. But, again, it’s Cousins ... I can’t do it. PICK: Seahawks -2.5

GREEN BAY PACKERS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-3): The Packers have had their issues; that much we all know. But Jimmy Garoppolo over Aaron Rodgers? Yeah, it’s happened before. I just can’t get Jimmy G missing a lot of throws last week out of my head. San Fran is 2-0 but they haven’t exactly arrived to two wins in the most impressive fashion. Rodgers has a big game in store in this spot. PICK: Packers +3

Which bet do you like more?
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at DALLAS COWBOYS (-3.5): The good vibes the Eagles had going for them have shifted in a bad way. Andre Dillard starting in place of Jordan Mailata is a major concern. Dallas is depleted on defense enough to where the Eagles should be able to do more damage than they did in Week 2. But the Cowboys’ offense is going to challenge an Eagles defense that hasn’t been thoroughly tested yet. AT&T Stadium will have some extra juice with Dak Prescott making his first home start since his injury. PICK: Cowboys -3.5
