The Philadelphia Eagles officially activated Zach Ertz from the reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday morning.
Ertz was placed on the list on Monday after testing positive for the coronavirus. As a vaccinated player, he was eligible to return to the team following two negative COVID tests taken at least 24 hours apart.
This news means that Ertz should be able to play in the Eagles’ big Week 3 Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
On the downside, Ertz didn’t have the benefit of taking practice reps for this week’s game plan. But that might not matter a ton given his veteran status.
It’s been a relatively quiet start to the season for Ertz with just 40 yards in his first two games. Jalen Hurts hasn’t really targeted the middle of the field early on. We’ll see if that changes against the Cowboys. It probably should since it’s not like Dallas has great coverage linebackers, especially with Keanu Neal out.
The Eagles and Cowboys will issue their final injury reports later today.
