You don’t hate to see it.
The Eagles were the only team to win in Week 1, blowing out the Atlanta Falcons on the road.
Elsewhere in the division, the Dallas Cowboys lost the kickoff game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They did earn a moral win, though.
Jokes aside, they were obviously the second best performer in the division this week. Though they’re certainly flawed as they were hampered by poor Mike McCarthy decisions, a struggling kicker, and a gettable defense.
The Washington Football Team put in a good effort against the Los Angeles Chargers, who many expect to take a big step forward this year. And they did it with Ryan Fitzpatrick getting hurt and Taylor Heinicke having to take over.
The New York Giants are tied (with the New York Jets) for the NFL lead in losses since 2017 and their losing ways continued with what would’ve been a 20-point defeat before a last-second garbage time touchdown.
We all know there’s plenty of time for things to change — for better or worse — with 16 games left to be played.
For now, though, it’s quite OK to find some happiness in seeing the Eagles first in their division.
