You know how Corey Clement signed with the New York Giants earlier this offseson? Well, in case you missed it during yesterday’s NFL roster cuts, the G-Men didn’t keep him on their roster. But, as it turns out, Clement is still staying in the NFC East.
And he’s joining an even more despicable enemy: the Dallas Cowboys!
This much according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
Clement actually grew up as a Cowboys fan despite being a Glassboro, New Jersey native. Gross.
But, hey, maybe Clement can serve as a double agent for the Birds? It’s about time we see that play out in Dallas after we’ve had to go through the Eagles being poorly served by signing former Cowboys players such as Orlando Scandrick, DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin, etc.
Given how Clement contributed to the Eagles’ Super Bowl success, there’s reason to root for him as a player. But there’s certainly no reason to root for him contributing to any meaningful success with the new team he’s playing on.
Clement is expected to be the third running back behind Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard in Dallas. He’ll likely mostly contribute on special teams.
