Former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson didn’t take a new job this offseason and instead planned to take the year off and assess new options in 2022. Which made Friday’s sighting of the infamous visor with Chicago head coach Matt Nagy at Bears’ practice a bit head-scratching.

We’ve since learned however, that, despite being decked out in Bears gear — the same gear as the team’s other assistants — he’s just visiting his friend and former assistant Matt Nagy.
I'm told that Doug Pederson is just visiting and at #Bears practice as a guest of Matt Nagy, who he is very close with.

I mean, look at this guy, he’s got a notebook and everything! It’s hard to not to assume that his relationship with Nagy would lend to some kind of job, even in an advisor role.
@dwcprodz yall got any news on why Doug Pederson is at bears camp in bears colors? pic.twitter.com/PJt1xRxwWt

We might have to wait until 2022 to see if and where Pederson lands his next coaching position, and whether or not he’s still among the head coaching ranks or back down to a coordinator/assistant role. But, at least for one day, he reunited with a few friends — including quarterback Nick Foles who, for now, is still with Chicago.
