UPDATE: The Jets announced the game is starting at 8:00 PM Eastern.
ORIGINAL STORY BELOW.
The start time for the Philadelphia Eagles’ third and final preseason game against the New York Jets has officially been delayed. Connor Hughes says the expected kickoff is 9:00 PM Eastern but that’s a fluid time.
The two teams were originally set to face off at 7:37 PM Eastern but that was before it started absolutely pouring at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The rain actually caused bubbles to form on the field:

One might think it would be best to just cancel this game altogether. The outcome doesn’t matter and it’s not like the masses would be outraged by not getting to see the Eagles’ and Jets’ third string players face off against each other.
Of course, it would be unfortunate for the players on the roster bubble who are trying to make the team not have one last chance to make their case.
