On the second day of Eagles training camp practices, it looks Brandon Brooks is already dealing with an injury issue.
Update: Brooks headed back in to the NovaCare Complex instead of returning to practice. #Eagles

If you’re looking for a silver lining, Brooks did leave the field under his own power and early tweets from Eagles beat writers indicated that it did not initially seem like a serious injury:
Brandon Brooks is now walking into the NovaCare Complex. Again, walking on his own power, didn’t seem like upset. #Eagles

This could just be a simple, smart move for a veteran player. It’s only the second training camp practice and it’s still July after all. There’s no reason to force anything at this point in the season.
At the same time, it’s hard to watch Brooks continuing to battle through injuries. He suffered a dislocated shoulder during the Eagles’ regular season finale in 2019, missing the team’s playoff game against Seattle. During the 2020 offseason, a torn Achilles prematurely ended his season before it even started.
Brooks, who turns 32 next month, is among the NFL’s best offensive linemen, not just guards, when he’s on the field, but it’s been a while since he’s suited up for the Eagles.
