A year after the NFL put the kibosh on joint training camp practices due to obvious COVID-19 pandemic concerns, they’re now coming back. And the Philadelphia Eagles will be participating in them!
The Eagles officially announced they’ll be practicing against the New England Patriots and New York Jets this summer.
The Eagles’ two practices against the Patriots will take place at the NovaCare Complex in South Philly on August 16 and 17. The two teams will then face off during Philly’s second preseason game on August 19.
The Eagles’ two practices against the Jets will take place at the opposition’s facility in Florham Park, New Jersey on August 24 and 25. The two teams will then face off during Philly’s third and final preseason game on August 27.
As far as I know, the Eagles’ practices against the Pats will NOT be open to fans (save for some select season ticket holders). The Eagles’ two practices against the Jets, however, WILL be open to fans. Free tickets are available to be downloaded starting Wednesday, July 14 at 10:00 AM Eastern (click here for the link).
If you’re not making the trip to North Jersey, your opportunity to see the Eagles practice will likely be limited to two training camp sessions at Lincoln Financial Field. Those dates are set for August 8 and August 22. It’s a $10 general admission (via Ticketmaster) with all proceeds going to the Eagles Autism Foundation.
But back to the joint training camp practices! It’s fun to see the Eagles will be doing those again. It’s fun to see the Birds practicing against different players after scrimmaging amongst themselves for a few weeks. With that said, the Eagles will certainly be seeing some familiar faces. Former players on each team include:
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
WR Nelson Agholor, S Jalen Mills, DT Akeem Spence, WR Devin Ross
NEW YORK JETS
RB Josh Adams, WR Manasseh Bailey, DE Vinny Curry
We won’t have to wait too much longer to see the Eagles back in action. Players report to NovaCare for training camp in exactly two weeks from this publish date, July 27. With fans generally restricted from viewing practice, it’s our goal at Bleeding Green Nation to cover it in a way that makes you feel like you’re there with us. So, stay tuned here for all the news and updates and such.
Oh, and here’s a handy schedule for the upcoming action:
