The Philadelphia Eagles are signing free agent offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
We previously mentioned Clark, who turned 28 in April, as a potential target given his experience with Nick Sirianni. Clark overlapped with the Eagles’ new head coach in Indianapolis from 2018 through 2020.
Clark was originally a third-round pick (No. 82 overall) by the Colts in the 2016 NFL Draft. He made 15 starts in 47 career games played, mainly serving as a swing tackle for Indy.
Clark will presumably push for a roster spot as a backup in Philly. Lane Johnson is a sure-fire starter at right tackle, though he’s coming off a season-ending ankle injury that’s bothered him dating back to 2018. There appears to be a competition between Jordan Mailata and Andre Dillard for the starting left tackle job.If Dillard doesn’t end up beating out Mailata, there are questions about his value to the team since he clearly isn’t capable of playing on the right side.
Clark is coming off injury after having suffered a torn Achilles in early December. It’s unclear exactly when he’ll be fully healthy.
