In a truly shocking development, there’s no shortage of rumors leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft.
On Tuesday, it was said that the Eagles “love” Kwity Paye and they could very well pick him at No. 12.
On Wednesday, it was said that some teams believe the Eagles are trying to trade up in the top 10 to get Jaylen Waddle.
The latest buzz on draft is that the Eagles are trying to trade up ... but not for Waddle. Instead, a cornerback.
The Eagles have been active this week with phone calls on a potential move-up. Multiple teams in that range think Philly might be trying to get ahead of Dallas for one of the top corners. Some NFC East jockeying going on.

In addition to this from Fowler, NFL Network’s had the following to share:
Howie Roseman traded from 6 to 12, securing a future first-round pick in the process. Could the Eagles' GM trade back into the top 10 tonight? Keep an eye... It could be a very interesting night.

So ... smokescreen or nah?
There’s obviously some level of logic to the Eagles trading up for a corner with the Dallas Cowboys poised as a big threat to take one at No. 10. There’s a realistic chance the Cowboys will actually be taking the top defender in the entire draft.
That is unless the Eagles successfully move up to, say, the Denver Broncos’ pick at No. 9. Jaycee Horn and Patrick Surtain II are the logical targets if that’s the move.
Are those corners really worth it? The argument here is that they’re not these can’t-miss players that necessitate forking over extra Day 2 pick(s).
Perhaps the Eagles feel differently. Or maybe they’re leaking these trade up rumors in an effort to encourage other teams to move up and push the player Philly truly covets down to No. 12.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
