‘Fire Howie’ chant breaks out at Phillies game

Preview of what The Linc might be like this year?

Safe to say that Howie Roseman isn’t the most popular person in Philadelphia right now.

Eagles fans are (understandably) frustrated with the team’s general manager after poor decisions have contributed to the team’s decline over the past three seasons. The Birds have a 23-27-1 record since winning Super Bowl LII, including last year’s miserable 4-11-1 campaign.

Attendance restrictions brought about by the pandemic spared Eagles decision-makers from coming close to hearing the loudest of boos at Lincoln Financial Field in 2020. But if Monday night’s Phillies game was any indication, it might not take long for this fan base to voice their displeasure at The Linc opens in the fall.

After a series of ‘E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!’ chants broke out at Citizens Bank Park broke out (please stop doing this, the Birds aren’t something to take pride in like that right now!), so did chants aimed at the team’s GM:

‘Fire Howie!’

The heat that Roseman is facing certainly isn’t limited to a rowdy group of fans at a Phillies game. Look at the replies of any given tweet by the Eagles’ official Twitter account and you’ll easily find the following sentiment repeated over and over:

Clearly, there’s a lot of pressure on Roseman to turn things around. And Jeffrey Lurie isn’t going to be able to ignore the calls if they only continue to get louder.
