Well, here’s some major unexpected news on an otherwise quiet Friday in the NFL offseason! Despite there being more than a month until the first round begins on April 29, there’s already been a major shakeup in the 2021 NFL Draft order!

It began with the San Francisco 49ers boldly trading up from No. 12 to the Miami Dolphins’ pick at No. 3. But then the Philadelphia Eagles got involved by moving down from No. 6 to No. 12! Let’s take a look at the full terms.

EAGLES RECEIVE

2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall)
2021 fourth-round pick (No. 123 overall)
2022 first-round pick (from Miami Dolphins)

DOLPHINS RECEIVE

2021 first-round (No. 6 overall)
2021 fifth-round pick (No. 156 overall)

So, the Eagles moved down six spots in the first, moved up 33 spots on Day 3, and picked up Miami’s first next year.

This move comes after the Eagles reportedly tried to trade up to No. 3 this year but would only do it if they knew Zach Wilson was available, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

There’s a lot to unpack here! I’m still wrapping my head around this all as I type. Stay tuned to BGN for more analysis and such. For now, here are the facts.
