Hey, look at this! The Philadelphia Eagles finally made a signing!
The Eagles’ first move of free agency was to ... re-sign 2020 undrafted rookie free agent Adrian Killins to a two-year contract. This much according to Aaron Wilson. Truly scintillating stuff.
Truth be told, I didn’t even realize Killins wasn’t already on the roster. Looking back at the team’s official transaction wire, I’m realizing they never actually signed him to a futures deal since he finished the season on the practice squad COVID-19 list. Guess it took him some time to get healthy and cleared before the paperwork could be completed.
Here’s what we wrote about Killins’ in our offseason outlook series last month:
REVIEW: People got excited about Killins after the Eagles signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent. Fans were enamored by his speed. But that attribute alone wasn’t enough for him to make the team as he spent most of the season on the practice squad. He failed to produce during his only playing time in Week 4.
OUTLOOK: Killins will have a chance to compete for a roster spot this season. The odds are stacked against him as his diminutive size will likely prevent him from having a meaningful NFL career.
Killins has an uphill battle to make the 2021 roster. Exciting signing.
