INB4: ‘Omg, Carson Wentz isn’t part of the team anymore, who cares about him!’
Look, it’s not like the Eagles are actually doing anything right now. And there’s a relevant Philadelphia connection to Wentz’s new jersey number, which drew much discussion after Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman said he wouldn’t be giving up No. 11.
If you’re among those who think Wentz shouldn't have been traded and/or were sad to see him go and want to support him on his new team, you can get yourself a No. 2 Colts jersey. Giovanni Hamilton broke the news on Wednesday morning:
thank u @Colts i am so happy to have my guy @cj_wentz new jersey pic.twitter.com/jNNUQwzPPj

Kind of curious that Wentz chose the same number that his previous backup, Jalen Hurts, is wearing in Philly. Many are guessing that No. 2 was chosen by totaling the two digits from his previous number (that’s 1 + 1, in case you weren’t aware).
Because I’m a sicko with nothing better to do, I looked up jersey numbers of all quarterbacks currently wearing No. 2. Here’s the list:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles)
Carson Wentz (Colts)
Matt Ryan (Falcons)
Easton Stick (Chargers)
Mason Rudolph (Steelers)
Josh Rosen (49ers)
Danny Etling (Seahawks)
Tyler Huntley (Ravens)
Brian Hoyer (Free agent)
Mike Glennon (Free agent)
AJ McCarron (Free agent)
Probably not the most impressive quarterback grouping you’ve ever seen.
