Before the ninth Sunday of the 2021 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for the Week 9 games. You can CLICK HERE for straight up NFL picks without regard to the spread. You can find all of the NFL betting lines via DraftKings SportsBook.

My overall record so far is 63-58. That’s just ahead of the BGN Community, which is 62-59

Here are the latest suggestions when trying to beat the odds.

NFL WEEK 9 GAMES

ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-7): The points might be tempting since you probably don’t believe in Taysom Hill. But the Saints have demonstrated an ability to win with (note: not necessarily “win because of”) in the past. Sean Payton has earned some benefit of the doubt. And, hey, the Falcons stink. Their wins have come against the league’s very worst teams. The New Orleans defense can shut down their offense. PICK: Saints -7

DENVER BRONCOS at DALLAS COWBOYS (-10): The Broncos know they’re not actually any good. It’s why they traded Von Miller. And Kary Vincent Jr. Teddy Bridgewater isn’t good enough to keep pace with the Cowboys’ scoring ability. PICK: Cowboys -10

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-3.5) at CAROLINA PANTHERS: Tempted to take the home dogs with the points here because Carolina’s defense is pretty good. Stephon Gilmore could be poised for a big game against his former team. Even the Pats win this, it could be a low-scoring affair. That being said, I just cannot put any level of faith in Sam Darnold, who stinks so much. Bill Belichick has a track record of being able to hinder the former NYJ QB. PICK: Patriots -3.5

MINNESOTA VIKINGS at BALTIMORE RAVENS (-6): The thing I said about Darnold applies to Kirk Cousins. The latter is obviously a better player but he’s still not someone you want to put your faith in. You’ll live with him proving you wrong. The Ravens are coming off their bye and should be ready to beat a Vikings team that couldn’t even top Cooper Rush. The wheels are coming off in Minny and Mike Zimmer’s days are numbered. PICK: Ravens -6

CLEVELAND BROWNS at CINCINNATI BENGALS (-1.5): OBJ is gone but there’s been too much turmoil going on in Cleveland to have a lot of confidence in them. Baker Mayfield clearly isn’t healthy and that’s a problem. The Bengals will bounce back from a disappointing Week 8 loss. PICK: Bengals -1.5

BUFFALO BILLS (-14.5) at JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Bills had some trouble pulling away from Miami last week but I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. The Bills should go back to winning big against Urban Meyer. PICK: Bills -14.5

HOUSTON TEXANS at MIAMI DOLPHINS (-5.5): Though it’s been a small sample size, the Texans have looked much more competent with Tyrod Taylor under center than Davis Mills. Perhaps it’s too forgiving of Houston’s struggles to put it all on their quarterback. But it’s not like Miami has earned the confidence that they can win at all, let alone relatively comfortably. The points are too tempting. PICK: Texans +5.5

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (-3) at NEW YORK GIANTS: Analyzing the Raiders feels weird right now following what happened with Henry Ruggs III. Don’t really know where that team is at. The one thing I do know about this matchup is that the Raiders have a big rest advantage. Vegas is coming off their bye while the Giants are coming off Monday Night Football. PICK: Raiders -3

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-1) at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: This line opened at Chargers -3. Money has clearly been coming in on the Birds ... and perhaps for good reason. Philly should be able to pound the rock against the NFL’s worst run defense. The Chargers are looking like the “same old Chargers” recently instead of the more promising version we saw earlier in the year. It’s hard to have complete confidence in the Eagles given their struggles this season but it’s possible they turned a corner in Detroit. We’ll see. I like the Birds here. PICK: Eagles +1

GREEN BAY PACKERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-7): I’m not alone in having no idea what to make of Jordan Love. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he lights it up in KC. The Chiefs’ defense is sure bad enough for that to happen. PICK: Packers +7

ARIZONA CARDINALS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-3.5): The uncertainty about Kyler Murray isn’t enough to knock me off of Arizona. Is Colt McCoy really THAT much worse than Jimmy Garoppolo? This should still be a competitive game at worst for the Cards. PICK: Cardinals +3.5

TENNESSEE TITANS at LOS ANGELES RAMS (-7): The Rams will win this game but the Titans are going to make it more interesting than expected. Adrian Peterson is old but he’s got some fresh legs at this stage in the season. PICK: Titans +7
