The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 8 game against the Detroit Lions.

Seven players DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith, Javon Hargrave, Fletcher Cox, Anthony Harris, Zech McPhearson, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.

Sanders wasn’t seen during the media-attended portion of today’s practice. The Eagles’ lead running back is reportedly expected to miss two-to-three games. That he hasn’t been placed on injured reserve seems to suggest the Eagles are hopeful he might only miss two weeks.

Smith missed practice due to a headache. [Enter joke about watching the Eagles giving you a headache here.] Hopefully it’s nothing too serious that continues to linger.

Hargrave missing practice should raise some concerns. The extent of his shoulder injury isn’t clear; maybe it’s not a huge deal. Still, not good to see that the team’s best defender/player this season is banged up.

Cox wasn’t seen at practice. He was listed with a “rest” designation.

Harris was doing some rehab work on a side field. He’s still listed with hand injuries in addition to the groin issue he picked up late last week.

Four players were LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Ryan Kerrigan, and Jack Anderson.

Johnson wasn’t able to finish the Eagles’ loss to the Raiders. Might have been a conditioning issue since he missed three weeks. It looks like he’s on track to start at right tackle with the Eagles merely resting him today.

Kelce is on his normal rest routine. He’ll ramp up as the week goes along.

Kerrigan has been pretty ineffective for the Eagles so it’s hardly like they’d greatly miss him if he can’t play. He’s dealing with a groin issue.

Anderson is still dealing with a hamstring issue. He’ll be a healthy scratch even if he’s not hurt, though.

Tyree Jackson and K’Von Wallace aren’t listed on the injury report since they’re still on injured reserve but they both practiced.

They should be back by Week 9 at the latest. It’s possible one or both of them will be able to play in Detroit. It’s going to be interesting to see how Jackson fares when he plays since he showed some intriguing potential in training camp.

No one on the Lions’ 53-man roster missed practice entirely.

Notable starters Trey Flowers, T.J. Hockenson, and D’Andre Swift were all limited. Guessing they’ll be able to play but we’ll monitor how they progress this week.

The Lions have three players (Taylor Decker, Kevin Strong, Da’Shawn Hand) in the IR activation window. It’s not certain if any of them will be able to return for this week’s game.
