The Philadelphia Eagles won’t be dodging Tom Brady when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to town for Thursday Night Football this week.
Brady suffered a thumb injury during the Bucs’ Week 5 win but he’s expected to be able to play.
#Bucs QB Tom Brady, who was spotted with his hand in ice during the game, is dealing with a thumb injury that should be good for Thursday night vs. the #Eagles, source said.

“In my younger days, I would probably never show you guys that I wrapped it up because I’d try to keep it a secret,” Brady said. “But I’m older, I don’t care as much. It’s just kind of a football injury. I’ll do my best to get ready for this game, see what happens.”
It’s not exactly clear when the injury happened but it sure didn’t prevent Brady from going off against the Miami Dolphins. The 44-year-old 73.2% of his attempts for 411 yards (10.0 average), five touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 144.4 passer rating in Sunday’s blowout win.
The Eagles won’t mind if Brady’s thumb gives him some issues on Thursday night. Maybe throw an errant pass or two. Maybe drop a pass on a trick play. Maybe fumble the ball away to lose the game. You know.
Philly’s defense bounced back in Week 5 but facing Brady and the reigning Super Bowl champions is a lot different than taking on Sam Darnold and the Panthers.
