The final Sunday of the 2020 NFL regular season is here and that means it’s time to run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for Week 17 games.

The Birds were officially eliminated from the NFC playoff picture last weekend so we’ll obviously be focusing on how the team can get a better pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Forget about “pride”; a better pick is the only thing that matters at this point.

TANKING GUIDE

The Eagles are currently set to pick at No. 6 overall. Here’s the entire draft order for non-playoff teams via Tankathon:

The Eagles will be picking no higher than No. 3 and no lower than No. 10. Here’s what they need to happen to get as high as possible.

WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: The Eagles need to lose. Not only does it help them get a better pick but it also prevents Philly from handing the division to either Dallas (likely) or New York. Washington winning is also ideal since it makes it harder for them to find a long-term answer at quarterback; they’ll be picking No. 19 at best in this year’s draft. Root for the Football Team.

BALTIMORE RAVENS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Eagles are currently losing the strength of schedule tiebreaker with the Bengals since Cincy has the easier SOS. It’d be nice for that tiebreaker not to come into play due to a Bengals win. Hard to count on it with Baltimore playing to make the playoffs. Root for the Bengals.

ATLANTA FALCONS at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: The Bucs will be playing to win to clinch the No. 5 seed and play the NFC East winner. It’d be nice to see Atlanta upset them, though. Root for the Falcons.

TENNESSEE TITANS at HOUSTON TEXANS: The Texans stink so bad that it’s hard to count on them pulling this out when Tennessee has something to play for but gotta root for it anyway. Root for the Texans.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS at DETROIT LIONS: The Eagles are already ahead of the Lions in the draft order but they risk falling behind Detroit with a win. For insurance purposes, root for the Lions to beat Minny. Root for the Lions.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS at DENVER BRONCOS: The Eagles are already ahead of the Broncos in the draft order but they risk falling behind Denver with a win. For insurance purposes, root for the Broncos. Root for the Broncos.

MIAMI DOLPHINS at BUFFALO BILLS: The Dolphins winning strengthens the Bengals’ strength of schedule, which is preferable for the Eagles. Need Cincy to have the stronger SOS for Philly to win that tiebreaker. Root for the Dolphins.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Chargers winning strengthens the Bengals’ strength of schedule, which is preferable for the Eagles. Need Cincy to have the stronger SOS for Philly to win that tiebreaker. Root for the Chargers.

GREEN BAY PACKERS at CHICAGO BEARS: The Packers losing weakens the Eagles’ strength of schedule, which is preferable. Need the Bengals to have the stronger SOS for Philly to win that tiebreaker. Root for the Bears.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: The Saints losing weakens the Eagles’ strength of schedule. The Panthers winning also ensures Carolina can’t move ahead of Philly in the draft order. Root for the Panthers.

DALLAS COWBOYS at NEW YORK GIANTS: I think it’s probably most fun for the Cowboys to win this game and get their fans excited about a playoff berth before Washington beats Philly on Sunday Night Football to take it away from Dallas. Win also damages the Cowboys’ draft position. Root for the Cowboys.
