The Philadelphia Eagles officially elevated the following three practice squad players to their roster ahead of their Week 17 game against the Washington Football Team:
- OT Prince Tega Wanogho
- DE Joe Ostman
- S Blake Countess (COVID-19 replacement)
PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO
PTW’s elevation is not unexpected but still intriguing. Sunday night marks the first time the 2020 sixth-round pick will be active for an NFL game. With Jordan Mailata out due to a concussion, it’s possible the Eagles will start PTW at left tackle. Otherwise it’ll be Brett Toth at that spot and PTW could be the top backup tackle behind Toth and Matt Pryor. It’d be nice to see PTW get some playing time. Just don’t want to see his confidence get shredded while potentially going up against Chase Young.
JOE OSTMAN
The Eagles needed a fourth defensive end behind Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, and Genard Avery. Good opportunity to further evaluate Ostman.
BLAKE COUNTESS
The Eagles needed an extra body in the secondary with Jalen Mills going on the COVID-19 list. Darius Slay, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Michael Jacquet (questionable to play) are the only cornerbacks on the roster. Countess is officially being listed at corner so maybe he’ll play there despite the fact he’s mostly played safety in the NFL.
