A few updates to share about some former Philadelphia Eagles coaching assistants this Friday evening.
PRESS TAYLOR
The Eagles’ former passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach is reportedly reuniting with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich in Indianapolis. Albert Breer says Taylor’s addition is designed to help offset the Colts losing former pass game coordinator Kevin Patullo to ... Nick Sirianni’s staff in Philly. Kind of a curious swap!

“Press is a stud. Press is a rising star. ... He’s got a really brilliant mind for the game. And he’s a great worker. Press would always be welcome on my staff anytime." https://t.co/N38QNy9Hll
As you know, Doug Pederson reportedly wanted to promote Taylor to offensive coordinator this year if he was staying in Philly and that seemed to be a dealbreaker for Jeffrey Lurie.
It’ll be interesting to see how Taylor fares in his new environment. And given his friendly relationship with Carson Wentz, well, maybe that makes Indy even more appealing to Philly’s quarterback. Not that a trade is necessarily up to him.
CORY UNDLIN
Matt Patricia hired the former Eagles defensive backs coach to be his defensive coordinator in 2020. That move didn’t work out so well considering the Detroit Lions finished with the 32nd ranked defense in terms of DVOA.
Despite these struggles, Undlin has landed a new job with the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers have hired former Lions defensive coordinator Cory Undlin as a pass game specialist/secondary coach, per source.

Undlin was on Philly’s staff when new 49ers defensive coordinator Demeco Ryans was playing with the Eagles in 2015.
TIM HAUCK
Geoff Mosher reports Eagles safeties coach Tim Hauck will not be returning to Philly in 2021. Hauck had been coaching with the Eagles since joining Doug Pederson’s original coaching staff back in 2016.
