All season long on BGN Memories, I’ve been chronicling the path of the 1980 Philadelphia Eagles on their march to the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance against the Oakland Raiders.

Of course, that season is best remembered for the legendary NFC Championship Game victory over the Dallas Cowboys, and as the NFL gets set to play the 2020 versions of the NFC and AFC title games, we take a look back at that historic win over Dallas on the 40th anniversary of that incredible game.

You can watch the full game here, but make sure to check out this week’s pod for all the relevant storylines and highlights, including:

  • The Eagles-Dallas rivalry to that point
  • The Weather
  • The Jerseys (yes, seriously, this was a storyline)
  • Wilbert Montgomery & a banged-up Birds’ offense
  • That incredible defense
  • The celebration

And if you missed our earlier interviews with former linebacker Jerry Robinson and head coach Dick Vermeil, as well as last week’s episode detailing the Eagles’ divisional round victory over the Minnesota Vikings, you can listen to those episodes too!
