The Philadelphia Eagles announced two moves on Thursday morning: veteran practice squad cornerback Trevor Williams was promoted to the 53-man roster and free agent Marcus Green was signed to the practice squad.
The Eagles previously used a practice squad protection on Williams last week before elevating to the 54-man roster heading into Philly’s Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Promoting Williams gives the Eagles a fifth cornerback behind Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Cre’Von LeBlanc. Williams was actually the top outside corner off the bench when Slay had to miss a few snaps on Sunday.
Green was with the Eagles in the offseason after spending most of the 2019 season on Philly’s practice squad. He had a few nice moments in camp. Adding Green give the Eagles another body at wide receiver following Jalen Reagor’s thumb injury.
