I feel extremely confident that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to beat the Los Angeles Rams today.
Yes, confident enough to give them my infamous lock status:
Eagles gonna get that W.

This isn’t about me homering it up; I told you I felt pretty uneasy about them going into last week’s game. I still think there are a number of on-field and off-field concerns with the Birds.
But there are plenty reasons for optimism heading into this Week 2 matchup. Carson Wentz isn’t going to be as terrible as he was against Washington. Getting Miles Sanders, Lane Johnson, and Javon Hargrave back is big. DeSean Jackson is reportedly in line for a larger role after being kept on a more stringent pitch count last Sunday. Doug Pederson is going to have this team ready to bounce back and he’s quite capable of outcoaching Sean McVay. The Eagles can figure out how to prevent Aaron Donald from wrecking the game like they have while facing him before. Jared Goff isn’t even good.
I hardly think a win totally invalidates all of the Eagles’ issues coming out of Week 1. In a way, an Eagles win today could be more frustrating in the long-term because it might just be setting us up for future disappointment. A loss would obviously sting more in the short-term, duh, but it might allow us to more quickly recognize that this team just might be bad.
Or, hey, an Eagles win today could be the start of a run and the Week 1 loss could look like a blip on the radar in hindsight. That would be really nice!
At the very least, I really do think they’re going to win this game.
