Eagles vs. Rams Final Injury Report: Some unexpected good news for a change

Week 2 game updates.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

There’s some unexpected good news for a change!

Big ticket free agent acquisition Javon Hargrave is listed without a game status despite being limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was full go on Friday and he’ll make his Eagles debut on Sunday. The Eagles should be expected to generate some serious interior disruption given what they’re paying Hargrave, Fletcher Cox, and Malik Jackson.

Miles Sanders, Lane Johnson, Jason Peters, Fletcher Cox, and DeSean Jackson are all listed with no game status. Thus, they’re set to play on Sunday.

Sanders told reporters that he feels 100% recovered from his hamstring injury and he hopes the coaching staff doesn’t limit his workload. Sanders returning should provide a big boost to an Eagles offense that only managed 17 points in Week 1.

The same goes for Johnson returning to the starting lineup. With Johnson back at right tackle, Jack Driscoll will be headed to the bench. Doug Pederson said it’ll be Nate Herbig starting at right guard. But Herbig might not be on a very long leash if he struggles, which is entirely possible if/when he faces Aaron Donald.

Peters was limited in practice on Friday ... just like he was on Wednesday. But apparently he’s definitely going to play. Will he make it through the game, though?

Cox and Jackson were full go on Thursday and Friday after resting on Wednesday. Reports indicate Jackson could have a bigger role than he did in Week 1.

The Eagles only ruled two players QUESTIONABLE: starting defensive end Derek Barnett and starting defensive end Brandon Graham.

Barnett was a full participant in practice all week so it’s a little surprising to see that he’s listed with a game status. I’d still guess that he’ll be playing.

Graham was full go on Friday. John Clark reports he’s out of the concussion protocol and is expected to play on Sunday.

The Eagles ruled one player OUT: Alshon Jeffery.

Jeffery reportedly won’t be back until October at the earliest.
