What’s this? Finally some good news on the Philadelphia Eagles injury front!?
Star running back Miles Sanders and starting right tackle Lane Johnson are both “on track to play this week” against the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Sanders and Johnson have both been dealing with injuries dating back to training camp. They were sorely missed during the Eagles’ Week 1 loss to the Washington Football Team. Getting them back for Week 2 is a big deal.
Of course, it’s also kind of hard to fully trust this report given the way that injury situations go for the Eagles. Can’t blame those who refuse to believe it until we actually see Sanders and Johnson suit up at Lincoln Financial Field this weekend.
One must also wonder if the effectiveness of Sanders and/or Johnson will be limited due to lingering injury issues. We might not see Sanders utilized as heavily as we would if he was fully healthy, for example.
Regardless, the Eagles are obviously a better team with them than without them. Good to hear they’re on track to return.
