The Philadelphia Eagles are re-signing wide receiver Marcus Green, according to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

The Eagles waived Green back on July 26 in order to help cut down to the 80-player roster limit. It wasn’t surprising to see the Eagles part ways with him considering he was a long shot to make the team.

It’s not perfectly clear why the Eagles decided to bring Green back. They did keep him on their practice squad for most of the 2019 season so they must like something about the 23-year-old’s developmental potential.

After re-adding Green, the Eagles have 78 players on their active roster. They also have two players on active/physically unable to perform and one on reserve/physically unable to perform. Lane Johnson, Nathan Gerry, and Jordan Mailata are on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Matt Leo doesn’t count towards the Eagles’ roster due to exemption.

The Eagles have yet to officially announce the Green re-signing as of this publish time so we’ll have to wait on the corresponding move.
