Quick Jam: Big Eagles news in small portions

A new series from BGN podcasts!

It’s overreaction season as training camp has gotten underway for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Did you freak out when DeSean Jackson burned Darius Slay? Were you concerned about Carson Wentz throwing some interceptions during day 2 of practice? Are you already ordering the marble for the John Hightower and Quez Watkins Hall of Fame busts?

Here’s the scoop and I’m gonna tell you... training camp stats are for losers. It’s health above all else. Why? Because it’s impossible to know the context behind some of these results. There are also drills, like cornerback vs. wide receiver one-on-ones, that egregiously favor the offensive player. All of that muddies the real picture of what’s happening and can lead to some wild, reactionary takes.

There are still real takeaways to be had, like who is starting where, but there’s nothing to get euphoric or depressed about in camp unless it’s injury related. I explored this topic on the second episode of “Quick Jam”, a new series from the BGN podcast feed that is designed to slam as much Eagles content into as small a package possible.

This will be a near daily series aimed to provide all the updates you need on the Eagles to start your morning in 10 minutes or less. Go back and listen to the debut episode on the media player below, or click here if the player doesn’t load.

Here’s a hype video for the show if you’re not sold yet...
