If the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t exist, the Philadelphia Eagles would be playing a football game tonight.
The Eagles were originally set to take on the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium starting at 7:00 PM Eastern. It would’ve been their first of four preseason games.
Instead, there are no preseason games at all this year. The coronavirus has the NFL rolling right from training camp into the regular season schedule.
And on that note ... only one month remains until the Eagles are scheduled to play their Week 1 game against Washington Football Team at FedEx Field! Can you believe it?
In some ways, 2020 has felt like an incredibly long year and we’re only about 70% through it. In other ways, it feels like time has been moving incredibly fast during this pandemic. Or at least that’s been the case for me.
The NFL’s COVID strategy seems to be off to a good start so far. We’ll obviously have to see how that holds up as time progresses. It still remains to be seen if the league can make it through the entire 2020 season.
But it’s looking like they’ll at least be able to get it off the ground. And if that’s the case, we’ll be seeing the Eagles defeat Washington in one month’s time.
