Today’s Eagles Question of the Day was inspired by my curiosity to hear about what other sports teams you root for. I imagine many of you grew up as fans of all four major Philadelphia sports teams: the Eagles, the Flyers, the Phillies, and the Sixers.
But I know that’s not the case for everyone. And I’m sure you might have other rooting interests outside just the NFL/NHL/MLB/NBA. You might be big into college sports or boxing or something.
I’m among those who grew up as a Philly 4-for-4 guy. The Flyers were actually my first love; I was a big Eric Lindros fan once upon a time. My interest in them fell off and I started to really get into the Eagles around when I was 11 or so. I remember being into the Sixers during the run to the Finals with Allen Iverson but I kind of tuned them out until I discovered Liberty Ballers and that rekindled my interest prior to the start of The Process. The intensity with which I follow the Phillies has been on and off but I’d really like for them to be legitimately good again.
I do consider myself a Philadelphia Union supporter but I don’t watch them as much as I should. Chelsea is my Premier League team in part because Didier Drogba is my favorite soccer player. Their improbable run to win the Champions League kind of reminds me of the 2017 Eagles in that it was just so storybook in some respects. I love re-watching this video:
Rafael Nadal, the GOAT, is my guy when it comes to tennis.

I don’t really have a strong college rooting interest. I guess I like to see Temple do well since they’re a Philly school.
I’m not the most religious MMA or boxing viewer but I do like to catch some of the biggest fights.
I don’t watch NASCAR but I had something of a toy car collection as a kid and I liked Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s No. 3 the most. (RIP)
I don’t have interest in watching golf.
