Eagles begin the process of signing their 2020 NFL Draft picks

One down, nine to go.

One of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 10 picks from the 2020 NFL Draft is now officially under contract. The team announced they’ve signed rookie offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho.

Teams signing their draft picks to rookie contracts isn’t as newswothy as it used to be. Prior to the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement, we used to see rookie contract holdouts that would last into training camp (and sometimes beyond). Those disagreements are still possible (see: Joey Bosa in 2016) but are much less likely to occur than they used to be.

Thus, in today’s climate, the Eagles signing their draft picks is really just about getting some paperwork out of the way. The process has essentially become a formality.

The Eagles signed all of their picks at once in previous years but they’re apparently spacing things out a bit more this offseason. PTW is first on board with nine picks to go.

4th - No. 145 - Jack Driscoll, OT, Auburn

5th - No. 168 - John Hightower, WR, Boise State

6th - No. 196 - Shaun Bradley, LB, Temple

6th - No. 200 - Quez Watkins, WR, Southern Miss

7th - No. 233 - Casey Toohill, DE, Stanford
