I will be skipping our usual watch party poll this week. The iconic Eagles 1988 Monday Night Football game against the Giants has been gaining steady ground in the last couple of polls and after chatting with some viewers last Friday, I’ve decided to just outright choose it as this week’s game.
Here’s what I’ve previously written about the game in past poll articles:
On Monday Night Football, Randall Cunningham became a phenom to a national television audience after his iconic red zone touchdown pass to Jimmie Giles, one of his three touchdown throws of the evening. The Birds defeated the Giants 24-13, as they built momentum for their first NFC East crown in eight years.
This is the night Randall truly become a superstar.
On Friday May 22 at 7:00 p.m. EST, we’ll be watching this legendary night in Eagles history. As a reminder, we’re going to be using the Watch2Gether site so that we can all simultaneously view the game while having a running text chat.
Simply use the link [here] to join our watch room. Same as last time, feel free to hop in around 6:30 p.m. so we can shoot the breeze before promptly kicking things off at 7:00 p.m.
We’ll be using the #BGN88Randall hashtag so we can all follow along together too.
We may be stuck inside, but there’s nothing like reliving some great Eagles memories. Can’t wait to crack open a cold one and watch with you all on Friday!
One note: yeah, I know the featured images isn’t from the came we’re talking about, but I couldn’t find one in the Getty image database.
