After seeing the massive success that mock draft simulator by The Draft Network had last offseason, the team over at PFF put one together for this year. In an article published today, PFF’s Timo Riske broke down some of the trends observed among the mock drafts submitted by fans and the Eagles fans that partook made it clear who they want.
24% of Eagles fans selected Justin Jefferson with the first pick, whether it was at pick 21 or through a new draft position via a trade. Jefferson was followed by Kenneth Murray, in terms of being most frequently drafted by the team within the first 2 rounds, and Jalen Regaor, both of which were selected about 10% of the time. Rounding out the top five were K.J. Hamler (WE ARE) and Bryce Hall who came in at 8% and 7%, respectively.
Looking around the NFC East, it appears Dallas fans were torn between CJ Henderson and K’Lavon Chaisson. The Giants were most commonly paired with Isaiah Simmons and Tristan Wirfs. WFT fans drafted Chase young over 55% of the time, as largely expected.
Next, the article outlined the willingness to trade up or down by team and it appears an overwhelming amount of Eagles fans are hoping to see Howie trade up. In almost 33% of drafts, the Eagles traded up to get their guy, with only the fans of the Broncos trading up more frequently. Where this gets interesting, however, is when PFF outlines the “average win rate of trades”. Eagles fans seemingly are losing their sense over the notion of getting a WR, with about 55% of trades resulting in a “loss” for the Eagles.
With only a few hours remaining until showtime, how would you feel about Eagles walking away from round 2 with Justin Jefferson and Kenneth Miller, as most frequently mocked by our fans?
