CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
Do you really need a QB here if you have nothing for them or do you want a no questions asked play-maker for your QB who you will eventually get later in this draft? My opinion LOAD UP on the best talent available.
We have all seen this happen in our lives, a team reaches for a QB and he fails miserably. All of us have seen some good QB’s get humbled as we have watched them fall draft board. So, with 3 first round picks in this draft (5 in first two rounds), you get a play maker, two or even three that helps your QB of the future.
With that you either, A) you find your QB as you go through this process or B) You will make a QB because of the talent around him. I
Now, with my reasoning, this will still no way be the popular pick for the Miami Dolphins here and their fans but who needs to be liked when you are building a franchise.
With the 5th pick Miami picks CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma. 6’2” 198lbs.
Our friend Solak over at The Draft Network has him compared to OBJ but do not worry, he does not have the diva attitude.

Good teams are typically good because those GM’s are going to draft the best player available ladies and gentlemen. That is why this is the guy is the best pick here as Lamb is the most complete player maker in this draft. Tough, no stop getting at it WR you could ask for.
Lamb will burn some guys in the NFL but CB’s need to watch as he will just embarrass you by your awful arm tackling and inability to wrap him up. He has the ability to go up and win the contested catches and he is a strong route runner. Lamb will not fall down because you hit him, neither will he give up because he is surrounded.
Let’s look at some of his career numbers and rankings in a school that has produced some damn good players over the years.
807 receiving yards – This is his freshman numbers and freshman OSU record
32 - This is the number catches that went for 1st downs out of his 62 catches of 2019
14 – These are his 2019 TD’s, He scores on average once out of every 5 touches
24 - Number of 40-plus yard catches (first in OSU history)
6 – Number of 160-plus yard game (first in OSU history)
19.0 – Career average YPC (173 catches, 3,292 yards)
At this point you get the gist of what I am pointing out, the list goes on and on as Lamb is top 6 in every category and ranked 15th overall in all-purpose yards among OU all-time.
He ran a 4.5 flat forty which is good speed but not great, This is his downfall but not a liability.
Sit down, watch his tape, his game speed is out of this world, elusiveness is ELITE. There is nothing not to like about Lamb and his game and at 20 years old (21 by draft night) he is going to by your #1 WR for many years to come.
Enjoy these highlights!
