The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced they won’t be picking up Malcolm Jenkins’ option for the 2020 season earlier on Tuesday. The veteran safety has since taken to Twitter to post a farewell message.

Note that Jenkins did not specifically thank Howie Roseman or the Eagles’ coaching staff.
Whether you agree with the Eagles’ decision to ultimately move on from Jenkins or not (and many understandably disagree), everyone should at least be able to admit it’s tough to see Jenkins go. He’s been such an indispensable member of this team since he first came to Philly in 2014. It’s really a bummer he’s not going to end his career as an Eagle. He’ll go down as one of the greatest players in franchise history. Not to mention being remembered for his positive contributions off the field.
Thanks for the good memories, Malcolm. You’ll always be a legend in this city.

This was our motto on the field each and every time we competed! I wouldn’t be the player I am without @MalcolmJenkins! Thankful for the lessons you’ve taught me on and off the field! Big things ahead! pic.twitter.com/SctpKOlRyR
