It finally happened, folks.
Andy Reid is a Super Bowl champion!
After so many frustrating instances of coming up short, it felt like it just might never happen. It truly became “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Well, now it’s real. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV to earn Reid his long-awaited Vince Lombardi Trophy.
I’ll be honest: this would’ve been tougher to stomach had the Eagles not won a Super Bowl of their own two years ago. But thankfully that’s not the case. The Eagles got their own Super Bowl win largely thanks to Doug Pederson and Nick Foles, who both arrived in Philly largely due to Reid’s influence.
So, here’s to you, Big Red! No one deserved this more than you. Thanks for all the good contributions you made to the Eagles over the years.
And here’s to an Eagles versus Chiefs matchup in Super Bowl LV next year!
