Eagles activate practice windows for Brandon Brooks and Davion Taylor

Brooks won’t be playing in Week 17, however.

The Philadelphia Eagles officially activated 21-day practice windows for Brandon Brooks (!) and Davion Taylor on Wednesday afternoon. Of course, there are only several days left in the Eagles’ 2020 season.

The team was quick to clarify that Brooks is NOT ready to play in this week’s game against the Washington Football Team. Activating Brooks’ window was merely about allowing him to do some individual work during practice. (And possibly an attempt to generate some positive PR at a time when there’s a lot of negativity?)

Still, this development is a good sign for his recovery from the Achilles injury he suffered back in June. Seems like Brooks, who turns 32 in August, is ahead of schedule and will be ready to resume his role as Philadelphia’s starting right guard in 2021.

As for Taylor, Doug Pederson previously indicated the Eagles are expecting to activate him back to the roster in time for this week’s game. Good opportunity to get the 2020 third-round pick some more playing experience. Philly’s in need of extra linebacker depth anyway with Duke Riley (biceps) and Shaun Bradley (stinger) dealing with injuries.
