The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced some transactions on Tuesday evening. An overview:
- S Will Parks waived.
- S Grayland Arnold promoted from the practice squad to the roster.
- DE Shareef Miller released from the practice squad.
WILL PARKS
Parks broke the news that he was being waived earlier on Tuesday. Curious move.
GRAYLAND ARNOLD
The Eagles paid Arnold, whom they had a draftable grade on, the fourth highest guarantee out of their 13 UDFA signings. Arnold showed some promise in training camp and there was thought he could make the 53-man roster. The Baylor rookie instead made the practice squad and was elevated twice when the Eagles were in need of safety depth/special teams help. It’s good to see the Eagles are embracing the idea of playing some younger players. Now if only they would do that with guys like Alshon Jeffery, Vinny Curry, etc.
SHAREEF MILLER
Miller, like Parks, is a Philly native. So that’s two hometown guys losing their jobs in one day. The Eagles originally spent a 2019 fourth-round pick on Miller but he never played a single defensive snap with the team. And he likely never will at this rate.
Cutting Miller and promoting Arnold means the Eagles now have two practice squad vacancies. They might fill one of them by activating Deontay Burnett from the practice squad COVID-19 list, assuming he’s cleared to return.
See below for a current look at the Eagles’ 2020 practice squad.
