Eagles fans play key role in electing Eagles fan as next president of the United States

For those wondering, yes, the result of the 2020 presidential election qualifies as Eagles news.

Votes counted in Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, where many Eagles fans obviously reside, played a key role in Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes going to Joe Biden to elect him the next president of the United States. Polling data shows Biden won 80.8% of the vote in Philadelphia county.

Biden — a Scranton, PA native before moving to Delaware — is also an Eagles fan himself. Check out his reaction after the Eagles won Super Bowl LII:

Further, here’s a picture of Biden shaking hands with Doug Pederson prior to the latter’s first game as head coach in Philly, all the way back in Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season.

Biden is set to become the 46th president and replace Donald Trump when inauguration day arrives on Wednesday, January 20.
