The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Thursday in advance of their Week 12 Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks. Note that this report is merely an estimation because the Eagles didn’t actually practice on Thanksgiving.
Two players were listed under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Lane Johnson and Rudy Ford.
Johnson is notably listed with an ankle ailment as opposed to the shoulder issue that caused him to leave Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns early. Johnson’s been dealing with ankle pain all year long. He might be able to tough it out again to start at right tackle on Monday.
Ford missed last week’s game and it looks like he might miss this one as well. His absence hurts the Eagles’ safety depth and special teams unit.
Five players were listed under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Jason Kelce, Derek Barnett, Alex Singleton, Boston Scott, and Jack Driscoll.
Kelce is too tough to keep off the field. He’ll be making his 100th consecutive start on Monday.
Barnett got banged up against the Browns but was able to come back in. Should be able to play on Monday.
Singleton didn’t miss a defensive snap in Cleveland. Perhaps the Eagles are trying to take it a little easier on him to get their top linebacker to Monday.
Scott is a new addition to the injury report. He did take a big shot in Week 11. If he can’t play, the Eagles will likely have Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard as their top two running backs.
Driscoll came in to play after Johnson got hurt last week but then he had to come out as well. Jordan Mailata could start at right tackle if neither Johnson nor Driscoll are able to play this week.
Zach Ertz and Genard Avery are both eligible to be activated from injured reserve as soon as this week. It’s not perfectly clear if they will be, though.
The Eagles will return to practice tomorrow on Friday. We could get a better sense of the team’s injury situation then.
